Personal Reflection
For educational purposes to supplement the Michigan Model curriculum that I use in my classroom I have unknowingly broken copyright laws in several different situations. I have taken images from Google to use in my Power Point Presentations, I have played movies or sections of movies to enhance students understanding of the material covered, and I have shown content from YouTube to my leaners. Based on what I have learned my actions could have affacted the creative professionals in entertainment, media, journalism, and publishing industry. Monies could have been lost or not obtained from what they created. This ultimately contributes to the decline in publishing and creating new work. They are also not getting the recognition for thier work. Steps I can take to make sure I am being legal and fair is to:
* learn what images I am and am not allowed to use.
* learn how to attribute images I am allowed to use.
* educate my students that they can’t just use any images off the Internet.
* show them how to source and attribute images they are allowed to use.

In my classroom I give a monthly Health Review article and I have had students copy their entire paper (summary and reaction) from the original author's work. I have dealt with each case on a one-on-one basis. I feel it is also a great opportunity for students to check their own work and to be responsible for th
